ELMONT, N.Y. — New York Islanders goalie Ilya Sorokin made 35 saves in the Islanders’ 2-1 victory against the Vegas Golden Knights at UBS Arena on Tuesday.
Brandon Saad scored Vegas’s lone goal, while Ilya Samosnov made 12 saves for the Golden Knights (31-17-6), who have lost four straight.
“All these games are pretty close. We’re always missing a little something, and those momentum swings, a little bit like the goal tonight,” forward Nicolas Roy said. “Obviously, you got to try and avoid that. If we play the way we play in the second, play hard, have no turnovers, and play a good forecheck.
