With a loss, the Commodores wind up getting the 7-seed.

Entering Saturday’s regular season finale against Kentucky at Hawkins Field, Vanderbilt sits at 15-14 in the SEC and 30-24 overall. There are four teams that are guaranteed to finish ahead of Vanderbilt in the SEC standings (Florida, Arkansas, Georgia, and Ole Miss), and South Carolina owns the tiebreaker for fifth place should they need it.

However, a win today will guarantee Vanderbilt the 6-seed in next week’s SEC Tournament. A loss complicates the picture, though, because there are a bunch of different tiebreaker scenarios involved. Right now, LSU is tied with Vanderbilt at 15-14, while Auburn and Mississippi State are a game back at 14-15.
