Vanderbilt gave seniors Josh Henderson, Carter Josephs, and Nathan Watkins the start in the trio’s final game at Memorial Gym as the group got a three-minute run of action to start the game. A driving basket from Watkins got the Commodores on the board before Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings went back to his regular starting lineup after a few possessions.
Major contributions from Wade Baldwin IV and Jeff Roberson led the Commodores out of an early first half rut. A 16-15 deficit prompted an avalanche of offense from the Commodores as fastbreak opportunities yielded an impressive layup plus the foul from high-flying freshman Joe Toye followed by another lay-in from Nolan Cressler off a feed from Baldwin.
