Vanderbilt built a 16-point lead in the first half, then watched Georgia chip it down to 4. Sound familiar? Only this time the Commodores closed.
Georgia is not a bad team, but their wing players are not all that athletic, they don't grab many offensive boards, and they don't force many turnovers. In short, they're ill-equipped to exploit Vanderbilt's usual weaknesses, meaning that about the only way they were going to win was to outshoot Vanderbilt. And while Georgia can do a lot to defend shots, they're not a very good shooting team themselves.
