Vanderbilt men's basketball coach Kevin Stallings (far left) poses with head coaches from the seven other Maui Jim Maui Invitational teams Sunday at the Sheraton Maui Resort and Spa.
Vanderbilt hopes its second place finish in the tournament can add to its NCAA Tournament résumé, but implications regarding team chemistry loom large, as well.
“I certainly think this experience, this entire experience will help us tremendously,” said Kevin Stallings, Vanderbilt head coach. “I think that all eight teams that were here will benefit greatly from this and that’s why you come.”
After arriving in Maui on Friday afternoon before Monday’s opening game, the Commodores had nearly a full week together before leaving Thanksgiving night.
