After spending years going to Hoover, Alabama, the SEC has ditched the Birmingham suburb for the big city: Atlanta. (Woohoo!) For a large event, being in a larger city makes sense, but there will undoubtedly be complaints about moving things to Atlanta, particularly for media covering schools in the western half of the conference: Atlanta is a much longer trip for them than Birmingham is.
The obvious storyline all week (aside from Paul Finebaum’s renewed contract with ESPN, which means that he’ll be here all week) is that the SEC will have five coaches here for the first time.
