Three Vanderbilt players were involved in a Nashville-area shooting Monday night, with two suffering “non-critical injuries” while, police said, trying to recover a stolen cell phone.

Nashville Police told The Tennessean newspaper that sophomore wide receiver Donaven Tennyson, freshman defensive back Tae Daley and redshirt freshman defensive back Frank Coppet were involved in the incident, with Daley suffering wounds to his leg and Coppet to his arm. In addition, Daley’s Toyota Corolla was stolen.

Police said Tennyson had his phone stolen during an attempt to sell it to someone earlier in the day.
