Vanderbilt running back Ralph Webb had more than one reason to celebrate Saturday night.
During the Commodores’ 45-34 win over Tennessee, Webb broke the school’s career rushing yards record of 3,143 yards on a 17-yard run in the second quarter.
Entering the game Saturday, Webb, a junior, needed 26 yards to surpass the previous total set by Zac Stacy across four seasons from 2009-12. Webb, though, now has 718 career carries to Stacy’s 581.
Against the Volunteers, Webb, who now has rushed for 3,236 yards in his career, had 114 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries.
