After the lefty put up a 6.75 ERA in four regular season starts, head coach Tim Corbin stuck by Pfeifer, and the results finally came: a 2.36 ERA over 26 2/3 postseason innings.
Pfeifer’s postseason dominance continued with seven shutout innings in a pivotal 1-0 College World Series win over TCU. The left-hander finished the game with seven strikeouts while only allowing four hits and walking three.
