The lanky, projectable righty signs with Cleveland for $2.3 million. He's the last of the four commits/draft picks I expected to sign.
The last of the four commits/draft picks I expected to sign has just done that, and boy, did he get a cool chunk of change. The Cleveland Indians, who signed former Vandy commit Justus Sheffield for $1.3 million last year, are paying the #42 overall pick like he was a mid first rounder. MLB.com is reporting that the Indians and McKenzie agreed on a bonus worth $2,302,500. The slot value of pick #42 was $1,468,400.
