Last year, in my Christmas post, I had written about what a good year it had been for Vanderbilt athletics. But as it turned out, Santa Claus brought lumps of coal for the two biggest sports.
The football team, in spite of the presence of Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Kalija Lipscomb, and Jared Pinkney, limped to a 3-9 record. And that wasn’t even the worst performance of 2019, given that the men’s basketball team did not win a single SEC game in calendar year 2019. And the women’s basketball team did beat Tennessee, but that was one of the few things that went right in a 7-23 season.
