For being the team’s leading scorer, Matthew Fisher-Davis kind of had a rough junior season.
He played 11 minutes in a November game against Butler, sitting the entire second half due to what was presumed to be an attitude issue. There was what we’ll call the chewing gum incident in a home game against Tennessee, which led to Fisher-Davis sitting down the stretch and coming off the bench for the subsequent game against Georgia. He drew a one-game suspension for a road game at Arkansas and, after coming back, found that sophomore Joe Toye had claimed his spot in the starting lineup.
