The SEC released its awards for the 2016-17 basketball season on Tuesday morning, and Vanderbilt’s Luke Kornet has been named to the All-SEC First Team.
Kornet was the only player honored on the All-SEC teams, but he cleaned up in the awards: he was also named to the All-SEC Defensive Team in addition to being the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
On the season, Kornet is averaging 13.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game. Kornet’s development has been pretty incredible, as in four years he’s gone from an unheralded recruit and 4 ppg scorer as a freshman to a First-Team All-SEC player.
