Fulmer was as dominant as ever, working with his mid-90s fastball and curveball that looked especially sharp tonight. He finished with eleven strikeouts in nine innings, and he also got plenty of help from his strong defense.
The junior right-hander helped himself out in the second inning with a beautifully turned double play in which he ranged to the left before whipping the ball to Dansby Swanson at second base. The true defensive highlight of the game, though, came two innings later.
With one down in the fourth, cleanup hitter Harrison Bader hit a rocket into center field that Bryan Reynolds caught against the fence as he was running in full stride.
