McCrary, who is from the Atlanta area, played in 17 games during his Vanderbilt career. He threw for 2,518 yards, with 15 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.
Interestingly, Mercer returns starting quarterback John Russ, a senior who has thrown for 6,224 yards in his career. Russ, who also is from the Atlanta area, is a three-year starter.
