Carson Fulmer, the SEC Pitcher of the Year who came into the game with a 1.51 ERA, allowed a career-high earned six runs over five innings in a 6-1 loss to the No. 3 seed Aggies. Suddenly, the Commodores are on the brink of elimination in the SEC Tournament.
No. 2 seed Vanderbilt will face No. 11 seed Alabama tomorrow at 3 pm CT (SEC Network), where Phil Pfeifer (3-4, 4.36 ERA) will take the mound. Vanderbillt won two out of three against Alabama in Hoover last week, including Pfeifer’s start.
The Aggies jumped all over Fulmer early in the game by laying off breaking balls in the dirt and hammering his fastballs.
