Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason is ready to begin the quest for a magic elixir. Mason, who expressed his frustration at the Commodores’ continued pattern of close losses, is now on the hunt for a way to revive Vanderbilt’s sagging season before Saturday’s noon trip to Georgia’s Sanford Stadium.
“This coaching staff is working overtime to try to come up with the magic elixir,” Mason said during his Tuesday news conference.
Three of the Commodores’ four losses have come by a combined 17 points, including last week’s 20-13 loss to Kentucky that was decided when the Wildcats’ defense made a crucial late stand inside the red zone.
