Vanderbilt’s victory against Georgia might have been the school’s biggest since Derek Mason took over.
Now, his message to the team: let it snow.
Mason wants nothing more than for Vanderbilt’s upset to have a long-term snowball effect, the coach said in Tuesday afternoon’s press conference before the Commodores meet cross-town opponent Tennessee State Saturday.
“I do believe that [the Georgia game] was a snowflake and we’re trying to turn it into a snowball,” Mason said.
A big part of the 17-16 victory over the Bulldogs: the effort of wide-ranging linebacker Zach Cunningham, who made 19 tackles in the game to win conference and national recognition.
