It’s obvious Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason thinks highly of Commodores junior linebacker Zach Cunningham.
Mason says Cunningham is like Richard Sherman, calls him the “crème de la crème of the blue-collar workforce” and that Cunningham should be the defensive player of the year in the SEC — and maybe nationally.
That was just some of the praise from Mason for Cunningham during his weekly news conference.
“When I look at his ability to key and diagnose, when I look at his ability to understand football in game situation, I think he’s been as good as anybody I’ve coached,” Mason said.
