The Commodores broke a scoreless tie with four runs against Houck in the sixth inning of a 7-0 elimination game win against the Missouri Tigers in Hoover, Alabama on Tuesday. Bryan Reynolds’ two run double gave Vanderbilt a 2-0 lead with nobody out in the inning, and a pair of errors with two down doubled that lead to 4-0, ending Houck’s day.
Houck dealt nine scoreless innings against Vanderbilt back on March 26 in a regular season meeting between the two teams, striking out 14 Commodores and allowing only four baserunners. Kyle Wright matched Houck’s effort that afternoon as Vanderbilt won 2-0 in 11 innings in Columbia, Missouri.
