This was the goal by the redshirt junior Simmons that gave the Commodores the lead against a visiting Murray State team only 13 minutes into the game.
Before the goal, the game had been highly contested physically, with the majority of battles in the midfield. Afterwards, though, the Commodores were on the front foot, pinning back the Racers with most of the possession for the Commodores in the opposition’s half en route to a 4-0 victory.
Another goal followed soon thereafter; this time freshman forward Kaylann Boyd scored after a good ball into the box from the left-hand side by Hannon Eberts.
