College Football Playoff tabs Bobby Johnson, Herb Deromedi as SEC monitors

College Football Playoff Executive Director Bill Hancock tells ESPN that Bobby Johnson and Herb Deromedi have been selected to monitor the SEC for the Playoff’s selection committee this fall. Johnson should be a name familiar to SEC fans as he was the head coach at Vanderbilt from 2002-2009.

Deromedi’s name is likely unfamiliar. He was the head football coach at Western Michigan from 1978-1993 and served as the school’s athletic director from 1994-2006.

“As during the first three years, the point persons’ role is to ensure that the committee has comprehensive information about each team,” Hancock told ESPN.
