Vanderbilt athletics will send 11 student-athletes to study abroad during part of the summer academic calendar with funds from the athletic department.
“I think these kind of things may be the most important things we do,” athletic director David Williams said. “It’s the kind of thing that might not be a requirement or covered by an athletic scholarship. But it’s one of the most fulfilling things we do.”
Last summer, star running back Ralph Webb studied in Australia, which was featured by the SEC during Media Days. The upcoming trips will be financed by the $100,000 surplus from the Commodores’ Camping World Independence Bowl budget.
