This indeed turned out to be the case, as Vandy’s bats came alive once again in a 12-3 pounding of the No. 3 Aggies. VU built upon its offensive momentum following a blowout of Alabama on Friday while avenging a 6-1 Thursday loss at the hands of A&M. VU advances to face either No. 1 seed LSU or No. 4 seed Florida Sunday at 3:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
Vandy got on the board early with a Will Toffey two-run opposite field homer in the second inning. The Aggies found some offensive success in the 2nd and 3rd innings, however, plating three runs total against Vandy starter Walker Buehler, who intermittently struggled with his control facing a loaded A&M lineup.
