We’re 94 days away from Vanderbilt’s season opener against Georgia. Today’s Commodore is #94, Rutger Reitmaier, the 6’3”, 275-pound redshirt sophomore defensive lineman from down the road at Lipscomb High School. Reitmaier’s road to Vanderbilt was a weird one: recruited by the Commodores out of high school, he chose Oregon — then after a semester (he enrolled early), he decided he wanted out. But an admissions snafu led to him spending the fall semester in 2017 at Lipscomb, which meant Vanderbilt had to apply for a waiver for him to be eligible in 2018 — which he was.
