They might not have known a ton about their opponent, but that didn't stop the Vancouver Whitecaps from staging a 1-0 victory over Central FC on Tuesday night. The Whitecaps opener of the 2016/17 Champions League season included some puzzling lineup decisions, but they were able to stake themselves to the win on the strength of a Cristian Techera marker.
Head Coach Carl Robinson went with a youthful starting 11, including USL Call-up Spencer Richey in net, and fellow call-up Brett Levis getting the start at Left Back. WFC 2 Captain Kyle Grieg also snagged some minutes, as he figured in as a substitute in the 74th minute.
