Whitecaps FC select defender Cole Seiler in first round of 2016 MLS SuperDraft

BALTIMORE, MD – Vancouver Whitecaps FC selected centre back Cole Seiler in the first round (16th overall) of today’s 2016 MLS SuperDraft.

CENTRE BACK COLE SEILER

  • Captained Georgetown to their first-ever Big East Tournament championship in 2015
  • Three-time All-Academic Big East Conference selection
  • Started 86 of 87 appearances at Georgetown
  • Seven caps with U.S. U-17 national team

Seiler, 21, joins Whitecaps FC after four seasons with the Georgetown Hoyas of the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (NCAA) Big East Conference. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound defender started 86 of his 87 appearances with the Hoyas, who recorded 43 clean sheets during that span, and was a three-time All-Academic Big East Conference selection.
