Vancouver Whitecaps FC played their second match at the 2016 CONCACAF U-13 Champions League on Sunday in Mexico City. The young 'Caps put in a solid team performance, despite an eventual 2-0 defeat against Costa Rica's Liga Deportiva Alajuelense
The Blue and White were very sharp at the start of the match, dominating possession and moving the ball well. Head coach James Merriman noted an improved intensity as the team created a number of chances, but were unable to finish as the two sides went into the break tied at 0-0.
In the second half, the boys again came out with great energy but conceded an early goal from a set piece.
