Whitecaps FC pass in Stage Two of MLS Re-Entry Draft; two players selected

Just two players were selected in Stage Two of the MLS Re-Entry Draft on Thursday.

Orlando City SC selected ex-New England Revolution defender Kevin Alston with the seventh pick in the draft, while the Portland Timbers chose former Houston Dynamo center back Jermaine Taylor with the 20th selection.

None of the other 18 teams, including Vancouver Whitecaps FC, made a pick.

Orlando and Portland are required by the league to make a genuine offer to their selected player by next Thursday, Dec. 24. In the event that an agreement cannot be reached between drafting club and the player, the drafting club will hold the right of first refusal for that player in MLS.
