Whitecaps FC goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau undergoes successful thumb surgery

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed on Tuesday that goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau underwent successful surgery on Monday evening for his fractured left thumb.

“We are happy to hear the surgery went well. We worked closely with the local and provincial health officials to ensure everyone’s safety and are very thankful for their assistance,” said Axel Schuster, CEO and sporting director of Whitecaps FC. “We wish Max a speedy recovery and anticipate he will be back to full training in October.”

Crépeau suffered the injury in the second half of the ‘Caps match against Seattle Sounders FC on July 19 in the MLS is Back Tournament in Central Florida.
