VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Monday the 2019-20 rosters for the club’s MLS Academy teams, as part of the Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System.
The ‘Caps MLS roster currently includes seven players from the Whitecaps FC Academy, while more than 60 academy graduates have moved onto professional soccer careers.
ROSTERS
Combined, 27 new players are entering the academy. 42 players call British Columbia home, making up 74 per cent of the total in the program.
BC SOCCER PREMIER LEAGUE
19 of the 27 new players join from the BC Soccer Premier League:
U-15
- Lucas Azmitia-Sherwood (Vancouver, BC) – Fusion FC
U-17
- Alesandro Comita (Kamloops, BC) – Thompson Okanagan FC
U-19
- Simone Masi (Burnaby, BC) – Mountain United FC
COAST-TO-COAST
Eight new players come to the academy outside of British Columbia, including the first players from the Whitecaps FC BMO Lethbridge Academy Centre and the Whitecaps FC BMO Prince Edward Island Academy Centre.
