With Saturday's home match against Colorado Rapids at BC Place approaching, the team had to alter plans when it was announced on Thursday that the league would be suspended for 30 days.
Team meals had already been planned and set to move forward, so the 'Caps team staff worked together with the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown to arrange for the food to go to good use, sending it to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
“We already had our meals set up for the team at the Marriott prior to Saturday’s game,” said Ed Georgica, Whitecaps FC head of operations & facilities.
