COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Spencer Richey made five saves for Whitecaps FC 2 (4W-8L-4D) in a 2-2 draw with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (6W-6L-6D) on Saturday at Weidner Field.
WFC2 opened the scoring in the 38th minute through Marco Bustos, who hit the side-netting with a perfectly placed penalty after Sanner was hauled down from behind. It was Bustos’ fifth goal in as many USL matches this season, with four coming from the penalty spot.
Then, just five minutes later, Thomas Sanner found the back of the net himself, getting on the end of a pinpoint Deklan Wynne cross at the back post and powering home a header off the near post and in.
