That was Masato Kudo's goalscoring record at top-flight Japanese side Kashiwa Reysol. The 25-year-old striker, who can also play out wide, leaves Reysol as the club's all-time leading goalscorer and joins Vancouver Whitecaps FC as a relatively unknown commodity.
So what exactly are the 'Caps getting in Kudo?
"He has a natural ability to find space in the box, which generates goalscoring opportunities," said Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson. "He is technically good with both feet and, as always required, he is a hard working player.
