While the Vancouver Whitecaps were (essentially) eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday, thank to a 1-0 loss to Cascadia rival Seattle Sounders, there is still a Vancouver Whitecaps team that we can cheer on in the playoffs: the ThunderCaps.
The often forgotten USL-affiliate Vancouver Whitecaps 2, often referred to as the ThunderCaps thanks to playing at UBC Thunderbird Stadium, are closing in on their first playoff spot. While they had a poor first season in 2015, the ThunderCaps have had a successful turnaround in 2016. They started their campaign with an impressive 10-game undefeated streak, securing 6 wins and 4 draws during that stretch.
