VANCOUVER, BC – Canada Soccer announced today the list of nominees for the 2016 Canada Soccer Player Awards and six Vancouver Whitecaps FC players are in contention.
At the senior level, defenders David Edgar and Marcel de Jong are among the nominees for the Canadian men’s player of the year, while Alphonso Davies, Gabriel Escobar, Julia Grosso and Emma Regan are up for the U-17 player of the year awards in the male and female categories, respectively.
