Myer Bevan Loaned to Sweden

The Vancouver Whitecaps announced on Wednesday that 20-year-old New Zealand striker, but also with Canadian citizenship!, Myer Bevan has been loaned to third tier Swedish club Husqvarna FF. The loan is through July 10th, with an opportunity to extend until the end of 2018.

Bevan signed with the ThunderCaps, then the Whitecaps USL club, midway through last season. While with Whitecaps FC 2, he scored three goals in 13 appearances (11 starts). With the ThunderCaps folding, Bevan was signed to a first-team contract this past December. However, with the arrival of Kei Kamara and Anthony Blondell, along with the returning Erik Hurtado, it was clear that Bevan would not get a lot of opportunities for game time with the Whitecaps.
