OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Goalkeeper Sean Melvin’s stellar performance led Whitecaps FC 2 to a road point as WFC2 played OKC Energy FC to a scoreless draw at Taft Stadium on Sunday evening.
The Victoria, BC native tallied seven saves on the evening for his second clean sheet of the season. Energy FC keeper Cody Laurendi made two stops of his own to shut out the young ‘Caps.
It was the Melvin show from the start, as he made four tough saves in the opening 20 minutes. Deklan Wynne, Will Seymore, and Cole Seiler were also prominent on the ‘Caps backline in the opening frame, coming up with key blocks and tackles to keep the match scoreless going into halftime.
