Of all the positions in MLS, goalkeeper is quite possibly the most opportunistic of them all. Throughout the league there are stellar netminders waiting for their chance. All this means that when the rare opportunity comes along, these individuals must seize it or risk ending up back on the bench.
Maxime Crepeau is a prime example of this; the 5’11 Canadian was stuck behind Evan Bush with the Montreal Impact, and even moved to USL with the Ottawa Fury, where he earned Goalkeeper of the Year honours, before heading back to MLS through Vancouver Whitecaps FC in 2019.
