VANCOUVER, BC - Whitecaps FC 2 defender Sem de Wit was named to the USL Team of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
The centre back from the Netherlands marshalled the backline for the young 'Caps in their scoreless draw against Western Conference powerhouse Sacramento Republic FC last Sunday, providing timely clearances and blocks for head coach Alan Koch's side.
De Wit, 21, has played every minute so far for a WFC2 team that has conceded only one goal in the first three weeks of the season.
De Wit is the second Whitecaps FC 2 player to be given the weekly league honour.
