The Vancouver Whitecaps have loaned young midfielder Deybi Flores to Honduran side Club Deportivo Motagua through December of this year. Flores spent two seasons with the club before making his way to Vancouver in 2015.
It’s an easy move to make for the Whitecaps, as the 20 year old simply wasn’t getting any meaningful playing minutes with the big club, spending most of his time either on the bench or with their USL affiliate, WFC2. Flores played exactly 45 minutes for the first team this season, starting the March 12th match against Sporting Kansas City. It’s far less than 2015, when he was able to figure in nine regular season matches, starting five of them.
