Canada Soccer announced on Friday the schedule for the 2016 Amway Canadian Championship – a day after the release of the MLS regular season schedule.
The ‘Caps will once again be the tournament’s top seed after finishing with the most regular season points among the three Canadian MLS teams in 2015. Whitecaps FC will open the competition in the semifinals, taking on the winner of the preliminary round series between North American Soccer League (NASL) sides FC Edmonton and Ottawa Fury FC.
