Four players who represented Vancouver Whitecaps FC in 2018 have been selected as nominees for the 2018 Canada Soccer Player of the Year Awards, which were unveiled today.
On the men’s side, Alphonso Davies is one of 12 nominees for the Canadian men’s national team player of the year, while Julia Grosso, Jordyn Huitema, and Andersen Williams from Vancouver Whitecaps FC’s Girls Elite BC Soccer Rex program are in contention for the Canadian Youth International Player of the Year on the women’s side.
Media and coaches will vote for the Canadian Players of the Year while only coaches will vote on the new Canadian Youth International Players of the Year award.
