FRISCO, TX – Canada's women's national team qualified for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup on Sunday with a 7-0 win over Panama in the semi-finals of the Concacaf Women's Championship. The Red and White will play either Jamaica or the United States in the final this coming Wednesday, October 17 at Toyota Stadium.
This will be Canada's seventh appearance at the FIFA Women's World Cup, after hosting the previous edition in 2015. The 2019 World Cup will take place from June 7 to July 7 across nine cities in France.
Julia Grosso, a recent graduate of the Whitecaps FC Girls Elite REX program in partnership with BC Soccer, earned her third start of the tournament in midfield.
