Canada advanced to the final stage of World Cup qualifying for the first time since 1996-97 with a 4-0 aggregate series win over Haiti.
The Red and White will now compete with seven other countries in a double-round octagonal group stage, with the top three teams advancing to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, and the fourth place team moving on to an intercontinental playoff. The other seven teams in the final round are Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, and the United States.
Carrying a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, Canada closed it out with a 3-0 result in their defacto home match in Bridgeview, Illinois on Tuesday.
