Two teams composed of players selected from regional Whitecaps FC BMO Academy Centres – part of the Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System – took on a series of MLS counterparts as part of the affiliate division in the U-12 Generation adidas Cup in Atlanta, Georgia.
Whitecaps FC Academy Centre Team #1
The first team, coached by Pre-MLS Academy head coach Bart Choufour, faced stiff challenges from Real Salt Lake-Arizona, New York Red Bulls, and Michigan Wolves (Columbus Crew SC affiliate) in the group stage. They then took on Toronto FC and Minnesota United FC in the knockout stages before ending with a win over Real Salt Lake-Southern Arizona.
