Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System graduate and Canada men's national team player Alphonso Davies has been named co-winner of the 2020 Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada's best athlete alongside Laurent Duvernay-Tardif. Davies from Edmonton, Alberta first entered the Whitecaps FC BMO MLS Academy in 2015 and played for the club's first team in MLS from 2016 to 2018. Davies is currently a member UEFA Champions League winners FC Bayern München and Canada's men's national team, while Duvernay-Tardif from Montréal, Québec was a Super Bowl winner with the Kansas City Chiefs.
