I don’t think this one will surprise anyone.
After a disappointing 2016 season, the Vancouver Whitecaps have declined the option on midfielder, and now most likely former Captain Pedro Morales, according to Marc Weber of The Province.
Morales made a hefty salary of around 1.4 million dollars this year, and his performance came nowhere near reflecting that. His creativity waned, the brilliant passes we had seen before had all but disappeared, and he could only seem to score from the penalty spot, as the Whitecaps saw their offense disappear. A late season practice tussle with David Ousted certainly called his leadership into question, as did a few interviews he did with the media before the season was over, in which he indicated 2016 would be his last year in a Whitecaps kit.
