As hockey games go, this one was about as exciting as, well, Kraft Dinner.
Pre-season hockey often isn’t pretty, but this game was downright ugly.
The Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks had trouble generating any offence Monday night at the Q Centre in Colwood, site of the ninth annual edition of the Kraft Hockeyville tilt. It took 3-on-3 overtime to decide this one after three scoreless periods.
Victoria native Adam Cracknell scored on a wrist shot at 1:49 of OT as the Canucks beat the Sharks 1-0 in the pre-season opener for both teams.
“I wasn’t passing it up,” Cracknell, who played his minor hockey in the area, said of the shot.
