Not that they had much of a chance in the first place, but the Vancouver Canucks won’t be landing Jack Hughes or Kaapo Kakko in this year’s entry draft.
Those are the consensus top two picks in this year’s draft, but from No. 3 and onward, things get more interesting. While many expect Vancouver Giants blueliner Bowen Byram to fall in the top five, it’s anybody’s guess where the other top prospects will land.
It’s also hard to guess what Canucks general manager Jim Benning will do with the No. 10 pick. You can’t rule out the possibility of him trading up or down, but if he keeps the selection, Benning will have a plethora of options.
